Understanding catalog numbers and name plates

For construction machinery and tools, the catalog number is the key to the right spare part. It is not the same as the article number in the shop – we match catalog data to your search.

Where do I find the number?

1. On the component itself – often cast, laser-etched or on a label
2. In the manual / parts list – PDF or paper catalog for the model
3. On the machine name plate – model and serial number for part assignment
4. On invoice or delivery note – when reordering identical parts

Serial number (PIN) – what is it for?

The serial number (Product Identification Number, PIN) identifies your specific machine. It can be used to assign year of manufacture and equipment variants – crucial when several versions of a model exist.

Common sources of error

• Confusion of similar characters (0/O, 1/I)
• Ordering a part from the wrong product line (predecessor/successor)
• Repair kit instead of individual part – check contents first
