Flor de Caña Gran Reserva 7 years 40% Vol More about the rum The seven-year-old rum Flor de Caña from Nicaragua has a special status: It is the only rum brand in the world that is allowed to carry the 'slow aged' certificate, an official recognition by a US authority for its purely natural maturation process in oak barrels. The rum is produced directly at the San Antonio sugar factory, which is located at the foot of an active volcano and belongs to the "Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua", founded in 1890. Today the fifth generation of the family runs the company. An outstanding example is the Flor de Caña 7 Gran Reserva. Although it is the youngest rum in the range, it has been regularly awarded for its quality since 2001.
